On 17th of November, 2017 1stAWG-IAHR Symposium on Hydraulic Machinery and Systems was held in Tsinghua University. Prof. Zhang Desheng, Zhang Jinfeng and Pei Ji, etc. from Jiangsu University attended the meeting.

The symposium was hosted by Tsinghua University, undertaken by Jiangsu University, Xi'an University of Technology, Harbin Electric Corporation, and Xihua University, etc. Representatives of over 200 universities, institutes and companies from 12 countries, discussed the latest progress and challenge on turbine and pump, sustainable hydropower, and hydraulic system.

A string of lectures were given by domestic and foreign experts, such as “Dynamic behavior and monitoring of a large Francis Turbine & Experimental results” by Prof. Eduard Egusquiza, and “Assessing Pressure Fluctuations of Francis Turbine: The Hyperbole Project” by Prof. Francois. The lecture “Performance Improvement on Pumps Based on Modified Particle Swarm Optimization” presented by Prof. Pei Ji from Jiangsu University, was also given. This conference enhanced the leverage of Jiangsu University, and was going to promote the international academic exchange.
