On April 6, the Fluid Center and the Energy Research Institute jointly held a report on learning the spirit of the National People's Congress (NPC) and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) with the Party School in 2022. The Party School invited Weidong Shi to give a theme report, who is the principal of Nantong University and the member of the CPPCC National Committee. More than 200 teachers and students watched the report online. The meeting was presided over by Party Secretary of the fluid center Desheng Zhang.

Weidong Shi introduced in detail the basic information, main proposals and suggestions of the 5th session of the 13th CPPCC and NPC. He spoke glowingly of his own experience on the contents of education in the government work report. He also focused on the proposals of the CPPCC session on curricula thinking and politics, self-reliance and self-improvement in science and technology, rural revitalization, and the implementation of the "double reduction" policy. During the national two sessions this year, focusing on hot topics such as artificial intelligence industry, medical device industry, intelligent manufacturing, rural revitalization and the "double reduction" policy, he made suggestions and prepared more than 20 proposals, which attracted the close attention of mainstream media such as Guangming Daily, China Youth Daily, China Education News China Transport News, China Science News and Xinhua Daily, and published over 100 reports in various media and newspapers.

Weidong Shi emphasized that teachers and students, as the pillars of the country, should seriously study the thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, earnestly implement the spirit of the national two sessions, bravely shoulder heavy responsibilities, and apply the learning achievements on national major strategies such as promoting scientific and technological self-reliance and rural revitalization. Concurrently, the fluid center should adhere to the fundamental task of building morality and cultivating talents. Besides, it is also significant that the center is liable to educate people for the party and the country, realize the independence of core technologies in the field of fluid machinery, and make positive contributions to the implementation of the national "double carbon" strategy.
