On Dec. 23rd, 2021, the Second Member Unit Communication Seminar of China Association for International Science and Technology Cooperation was held successfully in Peking. Fifteen member units, such as the National Center for International Joint Research of Jiangsu University, were invited to participate in the seminar online. The seminar focuses on the current situation of international scientific and technological cooperation under the influence of Covid-19, the latest international situation and the interpretation of national policies and the development direction of future international cooperation.Yao Weike, President of the Association, Secretary-General Sun Lijie, etc. were present at the seminar, and researcher Pei Ji, Vice Director of the Fluid Center attended as well.
Zhuang Jia, Vice Director of China Science and Technology Exchange Center, was invited to take the four countries and regions: the United States, the European Union, Japan and Middle East as examples to analyze the practices and policy guidance towards China and put forward suggestions for the future development direction of international science and technology cooperation. She said that the Center will work with member organizations to promote the development of international science and technology cooperation in the future. Pei Ji introduced the construction work of the center in detail from three aspects: construction background, main work in the near future and difficulties faced. He also indicated that the current international scientific research cooperation work in colleges and universities is greatly affected by the pandemic. New working methods and communication modes in the post-pandemic period need to be explored as soon as possible.
The association hopes to continuously strengthen industry exchanges and information sharing with member units in the future, provide high-quality resource support and services for member units to carry out international scientific and technological cooperation, and promote the practical development of China's international scientific and technological cooperation.
