On December 1, the 5th National Water-Saving Irrigation Equipment and Technology Strategy Seminar was grandly held in Mingdu Hotel, Zhenjiang, Jiangsu. More than 150 people from well-known experts engaged in water-saving irrigation equipment and technology research and representatives of major industry production companies participated in the seminar. The opening ceremony was presided over by Li Hong, Director of Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu University.

The theme of this seminar is to discuss the current status and problems of water-saving irrigation equipment industry, discuss future development trends of the industry, and provide suggestions for the development of key areas. At the opening ceremony, Yuan Shouqi, Secretary of the Party Committee of Jiangsu University, first delivered a welcome speech on behalf of Jiangsu University. He briefly introduced the development of Jiangsu University and the development of fluid machinery. He hoped that participating experts would work together to make new contributions to the modernization of rural areas, and wished the seminar a complete success. Subsequently, Chen Yao, Director of Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Province delivered a speech on behalf of the units in charge of the alliance and raised several expectations for the development of the alliance. Li Yangbin, President of China Irrigation District Association, introduced current status of water-saving irrigation in China, as well as the opportunities and challenges faced by rural revitalization, agricultural modernization, and water-saving irrigation. Researcher Li Wei, deputy director of National Research Center of Pumps, reported the construction situation in 2019, the problems and challenges currently facing the water-saving irrigation industry, and the work plan for 2020.

After the opening ceremony, the seminar shared 5 wonderful reports. The report session was chaired by Researcher Huang Xiuqiao, Director of Farmland Irrigation Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. In the afternoon, the participating experts and business representatives conducted extensive and in-depth discussions. The seminar was chaired by Zhang Desheng, Secretary of the Party Committee of Research Center of Fluid Machinery Engineering and Technology of Jiangsu University.

The seminar on water-saving irrigation equipment was fortunate to invite a group of top experts from universities, institutes, and enterprises.
