On November 9-11, the 16th “Challenge Cup” National Undergraduate Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Works Competition was successfully held at Beihang University. The shortlisted works “Research on Key Technologies of Quick Disaster Rescue and Efficient Self-Circulation Self-Priming Centrifugal Pump” of Research Center of Fluid Machinery Engineering and Technology won the grand prize. And the fluid center achieved the best result at the national level for this event.
The award-winning work “Research on Key Technologies of Quick Disaster Rescue and Efficient Self-Circulation Self-Priming Centrifugal Pump” was jointly completed by five students from the fluid center. Self-priming centrifugal pump is the key equipment for disaster relief. During the whole rescue process, the pump is the core power source device of the system. Hydraulic performance, efficiency and self-priming performance are directly related to the effective operation of entire system. The research of this project has broad market prospects and far-reaching social benefits.
