On September 23th, 2017, the colloquium of honorable alumni was held in the conference room on the 7th floor of the center. Secretary of General Party Branch Zhang Desheng and Deputy Secretary Zhang Jinfeng presided over the meeting, with distinguished graduates Zhang Bing, Chen Naijuan, Ma Zhengjun and Zhang Fan ,as guests. All freshmen attended the meeting.

The first addresser was Chen Naijuan, the Minister of development department of Shanghai Power Equipment Manufacture Co., Ltd., Power Construction Corporation of China. Chen shared her success as a female R&D staff. "There are little female employees in the R&D department." she said, "However, it does not mean that women are not qualified. " As two of her predecessors are both female, she encouraged the girls to adhere to their dreams and beliefs.

The next was Zhang Bing, Dean of the school of Electrical Engineering in Changzhou Institute of Technology. His experience of growing from poverty to the leader of a school told audience that, not only should we pay attention to scientific research, but also promote comprehensive development and be positive. He encouraged the young generation, with the words of Secretary Yuan: No matter what difficulty it is, just do it.

Followed by Ma Zhengjun, chairman of Nanjing Tengtu Technology Co. He participated in a series of innovative entrepreneurship competitions during this period. Consequently, he finished his academic dissertation in haste. However, He accumulated the experience and resources of starting up business from these competitions. Ma’s success was ascribed to opportunities, efforts and self-confidence, as well as the platform of the university providing, which helped him went through the difficult beginning, and made him more confident when facing challenges.

Dr. Zhang Fan was the last, but not the least, to make a statement. He put forward five beliefs needed in academic research: hardworking, responsibility, down-to-earth, aggressiveness and cooperation, combining his experience in Europe. Hardworking is the requirement of any vocation; responsibility is reflected in detail; down-to-earth helps resist temptation; aggressiveness requires students to maintain communication with, not only their own supervisors, but also professors in other universities; cooperation guarantees high quality, as research is completed by groups.

In the end, Zhang Desheng and Zhang Jinfeng made summaries respectively. In the Q&A part, the students raised a lot of valuable questions and the guests answered detailedly.

After the event, inspired by their experience, the youngers deem that only sustain efforts can lay a solid foundation in the following three years.
