In order to further promote the development of international students’ education in Jiangsu Province creating a “Study in Jiangsu” brand, and enhance international attractiveness of Jiangsu higher education, Jiangsu Provincial government has set up the “Study in Jiangsu Government Scholarship”.

According to the requirements of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Finance and Department of Education, Jiangsu University now begins the application procedures of Jiangsu Provincial Scholarship” in the 2019-2020 Academic Year. Detailed information is as follows:

1. Candidates:

a) Full-time degree students (both undergraduates and postgraduates) in their second year or above.

b) Students who have ever got Chinese Government Scholarship or Jiangsu Provincial Scholarship CANNOT apply this scholarship.

2. Requirements for applicants:

a) Be friendly with China, and obey the laws of China and the regulations of JSU and OEC;

b) Be honest and responsible, and have good morality;

c) Have good academic performance during the stay in Jiangsu University (undergraduate students should have won the third-class scholarship or above; postgraduate students should have good learning and research ability);

d) Actively participate and have good performance in enterprise practice, innovation and entrepreneurship, voluntary public welfare, self-improvement and encouragement, international communication and arts and sports;

e) Have their own story of studying in China, including the memories of deep impression, experiences, and feelings about the study and life in China;

f) Promote the spread of traditional Chinese culture or cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries and make significant contributions to public welfare; priority will be given to those who make outstanding deeds.

g) Students from financially disadvantage families will be given the priority if competed on equal conditions.

3. Application Materials:

a) The filled-out Application Form of 2019-2020 “Study in Jiangsu—Provincial Outstanding Overseas Students Scholarship”. (attachment)

b) The personal summary of your study/research, school life and activities.

c) The transcript which includes all the courses since started the study in Jiangsu University.

d) An article about “My Story in China”. The content of this article should focus on the experiences and feelings that are deeply remembered during the study and life in China. It requires a personal experience and gratitude. The writing language is English or Chinese, and the number of words should not be less than 1200 words.

e) The supporting materials for all the achievements, honors, activities, and published papers. For the papers published, the order of the author and the level of the essay (such as SCI, EI, and SSCI) with the impact factors should be indicated.

f) The bank document of the applicants (ICBC, ABC, CCB and Postal Saving Bank only)

All the materials above should be provided completely. If incomplete or missing, the materials provided shall be deemed as invalid.

4. The Selection Process:

a) The applicant should submit all the application materials to the class teacher before December 6. The class teachers should make the first round judgement and rank according to the applicant’s daily performance as well as application materials, and give the preliminary recommendations.

b) Before December 11, OEC will organize interview, evaluation and selection after shortlisting.

c) OEC will publicize the name list of candidates from December 12 to 19.

d) OEC will renew the information of the scholarship winners in the platform before December 20.
