On April 23, the joint key project of NSFC ‘Investigation on the mechanism of multiphase oil-gas transportation with high gas content in deep sea and the hydraulic stability of pump pipe system’ presided over by our university was officially launched. Supported by China’s National Research Center of Pumps and State Key Laboratory of Coastal and Offshore Engineering, the project is jointly implemented by Jiangsu University, Dalian University of Technology and China University of Petroleum (East China).

The launch consultation meeting is held in the way of combining offline and online. Prof. Wang Fujun of China Agricultural University, Prof. Sun Baojiang of China University of Petroleum (East China), Prof. Fu Shixiao of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, researcher Gao Fuping of Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Prof. Zou Li of Dalian University of Technology, Prof. Ji Chunyan of Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, Prof. Qin Hongde of Harbin Engineering University, Prof. Liu Fushun of China Ocean University and Qian Ling, senior engineer of National Engineering Research Center for Production Equipment formed a review expert group and were invited to attend the meeting online. Researcher Yuan Shouqi, Party Secretary of Jiangsu University, Prof. Yan Xiaohong, President of Jiangsu University, Prof. Ren Xudong, director of the Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu University, researcher Zhang Desheng, Party Secretary of the fluid center, researcher Peiji, deputy director of the fluid center, and relevant teachers and students attended the meeting at the scene. The meeting was presided over by Ren Xudong.

President Yan Xiaohong delivered a welcoming speech to congratulate the opening of the project launch meeting. He sincerely thanked the experts for their long-term support for the development of Jiangsu University, and put forward specific requirements for the implementation of the project. Subsequently, researcher Zhang Desheng, the project leader, introduced the basis, research content and implementation scheme of the project. Then, the review expert group conducted inquiry and discussion on the feasibility, innovation and application of the research scheme. The review expert group believes that the research scheme is detailed and specific, the technical route is feasible, and the scientific research platform and equipment support are guaranteed. Therefore, it was unanimously agreed to carry out the research work according to the predetermined research scheme and work plan.

In the end, Yuan Shouqi delivered a concluding speech, stressing that the project team should fully absorb the valuable opinions put forward by the expert group to improve the research scheme. Furthermore, the project team was required to strengthen organization, implementation and collaborative innovation, so as to realize the independent control of key technologies of China's deep-sea oil and gas mixed transportation equipment, and to serve the national marine power strategy.
