On December 13, 2019, Prof. Wang Fujun of China Agricultural University, who is a specially-appointed professor of Cheung Kong Scholars by the Ministry of Education, was invited to Jiangsu University to give a special report entitled "Writing Skills and Case Analysis of Foundation Project Application". The report was chaired by Researcher Li Wei, deputy director of Research Center of Fluid Machinery Engineering and Technology.
Prof. Wang first introduced the types of projects that can be declared by the National Natural ScienceFoundationof China. He shared writing skills and experience from three aspects: the foundation application and review process, how to choose a topic, and how to write the application, combining with his experience as an expert in meeting evaluation and successful experience of applying for foundations. He emphasized that the project application must highlight innovation, feasibility and logic, condense the existing key scientific problems and conduct feasibility analysis, elaborate as much as possible on the research plan and technical route, and strictly standardize the application form and some academic ethical issues in the application. He also answered in detail doubts and questions concerning the foundation application by some teachers.
