On May 8, 2019, the 1st meeting of Academic Committee on the key laboratory of pump and system energy-saving technology in China's petroleum and chemical industry was successfully held in the Research Center of Fluid Machinery Engineering and Technology. Yuan Shouqi, Secretary of the Party Committee of Jiangsu University, attended the ceremony and delivered a welcome speech. The meeting was hosted by Director Yuan Jianping.
At the meeting, Yuan Shouqi, Secretary of the Party Committee of Jiangsu University, first thanked experts for their support and help to the construction and development of Jiangsu University. He also briefly introduced the school overview and the construction of the discipline research platform. And as the laboratory’s support unit, Jiangsu University’s leadership issued the letters of appointment for the Director and the Deputy Director of the Academic Committee. Shi Weidong, President of Nantong University as the leader of the co-construction unit, issued the letters of appointment for the members of the Academic Committee. Professor Li Wei, Director of the Key Laboratory, reported on the construction of the laboratory in 2017-2018. All the members of the Academic Committee reviewed the laboratory’s work report, fully affirmed the work achievements since the laboratory’s construction, and put forward valuable opinions and suggestions. They agreed that the laboratory’s research work on the high-efficiency hydraulic model and system reliability of petrochemical pumps has distinctive features and remarkable results. At the same time, a series of achievements have been made in personnel training and team building, international cooperation and exchange, and transformation of scientific and technological achievements. The Academic Committee recommends that the laboratories should further consolidate and focus research directions according to the country's major strategic needs and frontier development trends, strengthen the application of basic research and interdisciplinary research, improve the original innovation capability, and strive to produce landmark achievements with significant influence on petrochemical pump equipment and system energy conservation, and promote the transformation and upgrading of the fluid equipment industry in China's petrochemical industry.
