Recently, the Ministry of Natural Resources-Institute of Seawater Desalination and Multipurpose Utilization (Tianjin) organized the annual summary report of “Key Technology Research and Product Development of Seawater Desalination Pump and Energy Recovery Machine (SQ2017YFC0404200)”, which is the key special project of the national key R&D plan “High-efficiency Development and Utilization of Water Resources”. The meeting was chaired by the project leader, Director Wang Shenghui.

Researcher Zhang Desheng of Jiangsu University undertook the subject of “Design Theory and Method of Seawater Desalination Pump and Energy Recovery Machine (SQ2017YFC0404201)”. He systematically carried out the overall design of seawater desalination machine, the formation mechanism of friction water film and its dynamic characteristics, and the development of high-efficiency hydraulic model and other work. At the meeting, the research groups conducted concentrated and sufficient technical discussions and exchanges on core technology research, patent achievement sharing, product standard formulation, product promotion and application, and it achieved good results.

Finally, Deputy Director of the Institute of Seawater Desalination and Multipurpose Utilization (Tianjin), Ruan Guoling, made a concluding speech. He spoke highly of the current achievements of Jiangsu University in the development of hydraulic model and prototype optimization design of seawater desalination machine. He hopes that the undertakers of each project would assist each other, promote the demonstration project of small and medium-sized seawater desalination machine, strive for the application of small and medium-sized seawater desalination plants in the fields of islands, ships and offshore platforms in China, and promote the technological development and industrialization of China's small and medium-sized desalination equipment.
