From October 21st to 25th in 2018, the 36th ISO/TC23/SC18 International Organization for Standardization Annual Meeting was held in Tel Aviv, Israel. A total of 27 representatives and experts from the United States, Canada, Spain, Israel, India and China attended the meeting.
The conference was hosted by the ISO International Organization for Standardization and chaired by Mr. Eliezer Kelmeszes, Chairman of the ISO/TC23/SC18 Committee, and Ms. Helen, Secretary General.
On October 21st, the participants visited the Israeli National Water Mekorot Group and Amiad Water Systems. The meetings from October 22nd to 25th are mainly divided into two stages: working group meeting and plenary meeting. In the working group meeting from October 22nd to 24th, representatives and experts from various countries have 8 standard working groups on ISO/TC23/SC18 technical terms, irrigation nozzles, test equipment, valves, filters, sprayers, remote monitoring and control technology. The annual meeting was held separately and had a heated discussion. The conveners of the Standard Working Groups WG1, WG3, WG7, WG8, WG10 and WG12 reported on the work of each working group. During the period, they separately discussed and agreed ISO/WD 15886-2, ISO/ DTR 15155, ISO/WD 9911 and other standards.
The representatives of Jiangsu University introduced the development status and market demand of China's water-saving irrigation equipment to the participants of the meeting. They also learned about the development status of the countries where other delegations are located, and expressed our willingness to host the next committee meeting to Mr. Eliezer Kelmeszes, Chairman of the ISO/TC23/SC18 Committee, and Ms. Helen, Secretary General.
The successful convening of this annual meeting enables us to further understand and learn the operation mode of International Organization for Standardization, and lays a solid foundation for further deep participation in international standardization work in the field of irrigation and drainage equipment. And it deepens exchanges and cooperation with International Organization for Standardization and international counterparts. Beside these, it promotes technological progress in the irrigation and drainage equipment industry, and increases the positive impact of the industry's core competitiveness.
