Recently, the "Hydraulic Machinery Discipline Development Strategy Seminar and the 11th National Conference on Hydraulic Machinery and Systems" was successfully held in Beijing Friendship Hotel.

520 experts and graduate students from key universities, research & design institutes and hydraulic machinery equipment manufacturers in the field participated in the conference. 14 experts were invited to make plenary lecture, 132 experts and graduate students made a group report. And the young teachers who hosted the National Natural Science Foundation of China (E0906 direction) exchanged research progress. Among them, Prof. Yuan Jianping, Director of Research Center of Fluid Machinery Engineering and Technology, gave a special report entitled “Several Research on Low Noise Design of Centrifugal Pumps”.

At the meeting, many experts and scholars have heatedly discussed on the flow theory of hydraulic machinery and its systems, hydraulic machinery operation stability, cavitation and erosion mechanism, high-head pumped storage pump turbine key technology, large pump station optimization design and dispatch operation, hydrodynamics in engineering applications and other issues.

The conference promotes academic exchanges and cooperation in China's hydraulic machinery and its systems, and gives domestic counterparts the opportunity to discuss the development strategies of national hydraulic machinery and its systems. Besides these, it also strengthens basic research, cultivates innovation talents, promotes the development of domestic hydraulic machinery and its systems, and better serves the national economy and social development.
