On 23rd to 24th August 2015, the kick-off meeting for Asia branch for hydraulic machinery and systems of the International Association for the provincial - Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR) held in Tsinghua University. President Yuan Shouqi, the director of our research center YUAN Jianping and Dr. PEI Ji were invited to attend this meeting.

IAHR hydraulic machinery and systems is one of the most important international organizations in the field, IAHR hydraulic machinery and systems Asia club aims to promote national hydraulic machinery industry exchanges and cooperation. Experts and scholars from Tsinghua university, the university of Tokyo in Japan, Waseda university, Korea ocean university, Korea muPu GuoLi university, Jiangsu university, Xi’an university of science and technology, Oriental motor co., LTD., Harbin institute of large motor, China Yangtze river three gorges group attended this meeting.

In this meeting, President YUAN from Jiangsu University, Professor Chisachi Kato from the University of Tokyo, Japan, and Professor WANG Zhengwei delivered a speech respectively. During this meeting the organizational form and development for the Asian branch was discussed and determined, and President YUAN Shouqi was chosen as the chairman of academic committee, and Professor YUAN Jianping was chosen as the general secretary for the Asian branch and one of the members of the academic committee. Many academic reports were presented, which mainly introduced the research hotspots in the field of fluid machinery for the Asian countries and the research trends.
