On November 21, the Joint Party Day event themed "Scientific Independence and Self-Strengthening" was organized by the Fluid Center of Jiangsu University in collaboration with Shanghai Kaiquan Pump (Group) Co., Ltd. The event took place at the headquarters of Shanghai Kaiquan, involving the Party Committees of both organizations. Distinguished participants included Yuan Shouqi, former Secretary of the Party Committee of Jiangsu University, Lin Kaiwen, National Committee Member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Federation of Industry and Commerce, and Chairman of Shanghai Kaiquan Pump (Group) Co., Ltd., along with Sun Weilin, Vice President, and representatives from the Fluid Center, including Zhang Desheng, Party Committee Secretary, Pei Ji, Deputy Director, and Peng Guangjie. Leaders from both sides, including Lu Hongzhong, Director of Kaiquan Group Technology Center, and Shi Liang, Deputy Director of Marketing Headquarters and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Wang Bin, attended the event.

The first agenda of the event focused on studying key chapters of Xi Jinping's "On Scientific Independence and Self-Strengthening." All participants unanimously recognized the significant meaning, central position, and strategic objectives outlined by General Secretary Xi Jinping concerning the independence and self-strengthening of science and technology. As leading entities in the pump industry, both parties emphasized the core position of technological innovation in the overall development framework, aiming to support higher-level scientific independence and self-strengthening in fluid engineering equipment technology in China.

Zhang Desheng delivered a keynote speech titled "Party Building Leading, Red Empowerment, Serving the National Major Strategy in Fluid Equipment." He elaborated on the Fluid Center's recent efforts in interconnecting party building across universities, industries, and regions. Initiatives such as establishing the Party Building Alliance in the pump and valve industry, integrating research workstations for graduate students, bringing industry experts into campuses, collaborating on project applications, and fostering technological innovation cooperation were highlighted. These endeavors aimed to propel collaborative opportunities, enhance cooperation levels, and broaden the scope of collaboration, achieving the shared goal of "Party building leadership, resource sharing, information exchange, and mutual development." In recent years, the Fluid Center's party building endeavors have shown remarkable results in areas such as party member education, institutional systems, business capabilities, theoretical propaganda, and social services. The center has been granted the construction of national platforms like the Advanced Nuclear Power Pump Technology R&D Center and the Key Laboratory of Water, Fertilizer, and Pesticide Integration Intelligent Equipment by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and it has been honored as an advanced grassroots party organization in Jiangsu Province.

Zhang Desheng and Wang Bin, representing their respective units, signed the "Cooperation Agreement on Party Building Alliance between the Party Committee of the Fluid Center of Jiangsu University and the Party Committee of Shanghai Kaiquan Pump (Group) Co., Ltd." Fully implementing the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the fifth Party Congress of the university, the continuous advancement of party building and business integration were emphasized. Both parties agreed to enhance the bridge and bond role of the Party Building Alliance, consolidate the resource advantages of both sides, and jointly inject "red kinetic energy" into the innovation and development of the pump industry.

Lin Kaiwen, speaking on behalf of the Kaiquan Group, expressed gratitude for the long-standing support from Jiangsu University. He acknowledged that the in-depth cooperation between the university and the enterprise has driven the rapid development of the company into a leading domestic pump enterprise. Currently, Kaiquan Group is implementing an internationalization strategy, and he hopes that the university will continue to support the high-quality development of the enterprise in areas such as talent, research and development, and internationalization, collectively enhancing the international status and influence of China's pump industry.

Yuan Shouqi reviewed the strategic cooperation history of nearly thirty years between Jiangsu University and Shanghai Kaiquan. The collaboration has included cultivating outstanding engineers, establishing the Shanghai Kaiquan Zhenjiang Hydraulic Research Center, and jointly undertaking key product technology research, resulting in the National Science and Technology Progress Second Prize. Through the in-depth integration of production, education, and research, the technological innovation of the enterprise has been promoted, supporting its rapid development. He expressed hope that the two parties would deepen cooperation in frontier areas such as the new generation of nuclear power, deep-sea resource extraction, and new energy equipment, contributing to solving key technological challenges and developing into an internationally renowned pump enterprise.

Before the meeting, participants toured the group's headquarters exhibition hall, high-precision multifunctional hydraulic machinery test bench, and production workshop.
